🌟 A Story of Hope and Renewal
Maria (name changed for privacy) called the SAFV Task Force one evening, her voice trembling with uncertainty. She wondered if what she had been enduring was truly abuse. “It’s not like he hit the children or me,” she thought to herself. Yet the constant fear, the controlling behavior, and the emotional harm weighed heavily on her heart. More than anything, Maria knew she could not keep living this way—she needed to do something for her children.
• Guidance and Support: SAFV staff helped Maria create a safety plan and connected her with resources to begin her transition.
• Relocation Assistance: With donor-funded support, Maria and her children were able to move into a safe apartment where they could finally breathe freely.
• Employment Pathways: Maria soon secured stable employment, giving her family the independence they needed. She was awarded Employee of the Month because of the new confidence she found in herself.
Today, Maria is thriving. Her children are laughing again, their home filled with peace instead of fear. Maria has built a new life rooted in safety, dignity, and hope. She often reflects, “I didn’t know where to turn, but SAFV Task Force showed me I wasn’t alone.
